Remembering what Acts 20:35 says, “I have shown you in all things that by working hard in this way we must help the weak, remembering the words that the Lord Jesus himself said, ‘There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.’”
I really enjoyed 2 weekends ago when Dan and I went for a drive to get away from town and seeing what God had for us. It was so much more than that.
During that time, our church, Crossroads Community Church was doing a winter clothing drive and it was the last day for it. They had already given coats and stuff to both Sycamore and Dekalb area But there was still more to do. So that morning I went to a church in Sycamore that was having a rummage sale and asked for their donations.
Then we drove to Belvidere who’s Vendor show didn’t start til 11 and we were suppose to be back in Sycamore at 11 a.m. So we went back and left with 2 bags of coats, boots, hats and gloves. After that the Lord lead me to a garage sale in town. So I stopped and asked me to stop back for their donations.
Then we went to just outside Marengo for Autumn Drive and went to look around. I did have flyers for our Clothing drive and met some great people out their to contact for our home business. But there was one house on the way back. She was having a garage sale in her barn. I shared with them what Dan and I were doing our church was doing and she told me to take what ever we needed. So I picked up coats and sweaters boot and gloves and hats.
So then we went back to the people’s house in Sycamore and got 4-5 coats and gloves and boots and couple of snow pants.
This was all on prayer and what God can do. So continue to give to those who are less fortunate and pray for them. If your church or school is doing someone is doing a drive donate. Because those people are so grateful for what they receive.
