Journey of Love: Overcoming Struggles and Embracing 24 Years of Marriage

In West Dundee at St James Episcopal Church at 12pm with My family and your family. We were married. People thought we were so different that things wouldn’t last. They thought we would divorce and never make it.

Because, I was married before and I had 2 kids from previous relationships. But they didn’t know our determination and what God had in store for us. We were 39 and 42, It was your first and only marriage and one that God blessed.

We didn’t know what were getting into and what was going on. You were a 3rd shift worker at Dominick’s and you loved it. In 2001, God was moving us to Peoria area and things changed again. I worked at Kohl’s and you were at Kroger part-time and then fulltime. Then you got a job at walmart for fulltime and better hours..

Who knew 5 yrs later we move to Columbus, OH and stay there 5 yrs. We are up and downs there. But we found out you had Spinal stenosis and Hydroencephalitis and that took a toll on us but we made it and you went back to work for 6 mos before disability set in.

We were came back to see my dad and stayed your folks house. We went back and forth to the hospital and then to Palliative Care til the day before he died. We had to go back home to go for a test and found out the test was messed up. Then we made decision to come back home to be with our parents and to try to help out.

But then when we moved your dad passed with Pneumonia in 2017 and we helped mom and Cathy with the funeral stuff and then we moved back to the house fo year and then to dekalb for 3yrs during the Pandemic and now to Rockford.

We became Grandparents this last year. My daughter decide in a choosing of her own to give up on us. But we continue to pray for her and hope that she sees us for what God is doing but at the moment her that she is loved.

So this our 24th Anniversary, I wish us joy and happiness and Joy and that God will continue to lead us..
