Left by the wayside

Have you ever felt like you have been left by the wayside with no one to talk to and no one that has been where you have been? Well, it happened to me over 2 weeks ago when my mother was diagnosis with dementia and was going out of her mind and was put in a behavioral hospital for 2 weeks. She is home now.

But who do you talk to, when the people you trust are off in their worlds building their business and don’t understand what’s going on because you choose to sit by the sidelines for a bit because of a disagreement and things said by others and neither one of you know if they are true or not.

So your their on the wayside thinking should I talk to this person or not. I know from the past that they have been through the same thing as you and they know how to handle it. You already have a parent with the same problem and unsure what to do.  So now what?

So out of your afraidness you reach out to the person just to get advice and suggestion on how to handle this or just stay in your world and not even talk to the person. So in the bleak times and the unsure times you reach out to them. Not sure what they are going to say because you left the last conversation with hurts and regrets on both parts. So unsure you decide to tell this person your situation and get their opinion.

Their opinion is one you need to hear and then you decide Okay, maybe I should give this friendship another try. With some boundaries, Keep doors open and be transparent. Don’t let others influence what you are doing. In fact put them by the wayside and change your focus to one of your growth and those around you to grow and let them see that you can do this.

Remember this your not left by the wayside for long. Til someone picks you up and shows you the way.
